To equip with the wisdom of the English literary world and foster sensitivity and creativity towards the betterment of future generations. The mission of the department is to train students in the study of literature by acquainting with established classics as well as significant new works in the English language and literature, and by familiarizing them with various critical tools and precepts from early times to the present age. The principal aim is to provide students with expert support and to encourage them to take responsibility for their own learning with the assistance of the extensive research resources at their disposal. Students are encouraged to explore a range of future work opportunities from creative and cultural industries to employment.
