Siena College of Professional Studies is owned and administered by the Diocese of Cochin, one of the oldest Catholic dioceses in India. The College started functioning in 2002 with 58 students affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India.

Siena College of Professional Studies is the third university affiliated College, patronized by the Bishop of Cochin. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. This is a milestone in the arena of education triggered off by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Kureethara, the former Bishop of Cochin.
