ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CLUB (ED CLUB)
ABOUT
The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala, in association with Education Department formulated a Scheme to set up Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in colleges of the state to inculcating “Entrepreneurship Culture” among the Youth. The ED club of our college has been registered with the District Industries Centre under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Kerala with registration No. EDC/EKM/58/2018 . It has been functioning in our college from 2018 onwards in order to inculcate entrepreneurship culture and aspirations among the students and equip them with the knowledge, skill, techniques and confidence which will enable them to set up their own business concern and thereby become employers, not employees.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES OF CLUB
- Organize interactive sessions with successful entrepreneurs.
- Organize interactive sessions with Industrial Extension Officers to make the students aware of unlimited development potential of the state.
- Organize industrial visits to business enterprises.
- Conduct exhibitions to explore the talents of the students.
- Organize workshops.

2) Report of the Event
With a view to meeting the present challenges in the unemployment problems prevailing in the liberalised, privatized and globalised economy and also to creating a new entrepreneur trend and culture in the State of Kerala, the Department of Industries, Govt. of Kerala, has launched the Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in colleges. On 18-June-2019, 3 teachers and 19 students who are the members of ED club visited Anand Water meter Pvt. Ltd. We reached there by 10.30 am and left industry by 1 pm. We had come across the different functions of the industry.

2) Report of the Event
The Department Of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Kerala in association with education department formulated a scheme to set up Entrepreneurship Development clubs in schools and colleges of the state to inculcate entrepreneurship culture amongst youth and equip them with the skills, techniques and confidence to act as good entrepreneurs. Siena college run the ED Club is which is registered with the Directorate of Industries and Commerce under the Entrepreneurship Development Club Programme of the Department of Industries & Commerce, Govt. Of Kerala (Reg. No :). The programme began with a prayer song and then Mrs. Vrunda S welcomed the gathering. The ED Club was officially registered and inaugurated on, 05-08-2018 by Mr. Mujeeb Rahman , Industrial officer, Taluk Industrial Office, Edakochi and our manager Fr. Johnson Chirammel. Principal Dr. Jose P Abraham and Academic Director Dr. V. S. Antony , Vice principal Mrs. K.J Philominal offered felicitations The eminent persons from the Industries Department delivered speeches on how to register an MSME. They provided necessary information on the financial assistance provided by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Thiruvananthapuram to Entrepreneurship Development Clubs through the state of Kerala. College has registered through DIC and has gained financial assistance to help students in their entrepreneurial activities. The Session ended with vote of thanks.

2) Report of the Event
The Entrepreneurship Development Club organized an Exhibition cum Sale in association with Department of Management Studies 15th February 2019. The programme was officially inaugurated by Principal Dr. Jose P Abraham. We conducted exhibitions of various products made by the ED Club members and other students; It has also arranged a food court. In the exhibition, there were altogether 13 stalls consisting of products made by ED club members including paper bags, paper files, paper pens, umbrellas, chalks, agarbatties, candles, mats, craft items, ornaments, glass paintings, dress designing, variety bags, flower pots, variety baskets, food items etc in the stalls. Students could exchange knowledge and idea on how to produce, the products they exhibited. Many visitors from outside including business persons have participated in the programme and visited the stalls. All these encouraged both insiders and outsiders of the college.

2) Report of the Event
A regional seminar on ENTREPRENEURSHIP was organized in association with Department of Management Studies, in order to develop entrepreneurial skill among the students on 05-March- 2019. The programme began with a prayer song and then Mrs. Vrunda S welcomed the gathering. This session was handled by an eminent career development trainer, motivator and mentalist Mr. Sanju P Cherian. The seminar helped students in strengthening their entrepreneurship capabilities. He shared his experience
with the students and had a better interaction after the function. The Session ended with vote of thanks and presentation of memento to the resource person.
